Astronomy Festival

September 28-30, 2017

 

Great Basin National Park has some of the best air quality in the nation which translates to clear daytime skies, and incredibly dark night skies. Join park rangers and experience out of this world family fun, excitement, and learn about day and nighttime astronomy.

 

There will be many telescopes of different makes, shapes, and sizes for you and your family to look at the sun, stars, planets and other deep sky objects including nebulae and galaxies.

 

Here is a schedule of events for the festival.

All events will take place at the Lehman Caves Visitors Center at Great Basin National Park. From U.S. Highway 6 & 50, turn south on Nevada State Highway 487 and travel 5 miles to Baker, NV. In Baker turn west on Highway 488 and travel 5 miles to the park.
